I’ve got a table at this 2 day show in Augusta Maine.
Come by the Collectibles & Toy Show at the Auburn Mall, April 8th, 2023! Special guest tba. For tables, please reach out to Dan via email or phone.
Midcoast Comics had a signing today, with Paul Pelletier, Joe St Pierre & Rick Parker. So I swung by to hang out for a bit. Found a bunch of Pelletier books for Thanos to get signed or sell to customers to get signed & found one single St Pierre book (after he dug around for some to sign for Thanos). Below are the 2 pics I took & scans of the 2 comics I had signed…
For 3.5 years now, DotCom Comics in Freeport has been my LCS. Over the last few months, they haven’t had the high sales with new books that they really hoped for & wanted so they decided to stop selling new books. They will go back to being an online only shop at some point in the near future & as of today, no new comics will be ordered & sold. No merch sales are expected as they’ll be going back to fully online only. Ebay & whatnot & other sites.
Honestly, this doesn’t surprise me as they sell most of the random “high” speculation books online and basically took from the DotCom side of the two businesses without giving credit of the sale to the shop. Creating an always in the red problem as the hot new books were never available in store.
As a fan of all things Turtles, getting the owners to let Dan order more Turtles was basically impossible. I even offered to buy extra copies of books I don’t need, if they’d let me order at cost (for just the extras) so I could get the variants I wanted for my personal collection. On the odd chances when they would already order enough for variants, the “parent” shop would just swipe them when they came in & put them online for people to bid on via eBay. Sorry folks, but I’m your established customer and as such, I’m not bidding on jack with people who aren’t regulars.
I only ever did business with DotCom because they bought out & closed down Zimmies so I was trying to support a friend at the new shop only now, 3.5 years later to get shafted again and start over at another store. Great that there is a new shop to go to, but bad to have to get a file going somewhere thats new and is still having some growing pains.
The new shop owner is working with most of DotComs customers and thats great, I just hope he can adjust the things we have discussed over the las
Due to necessity, Dan, the owner of Collectables Forever, has decided to make the next show (& likely going forward) SATURDAY only instead of three day shows over the entire weekend. Sorry for any confusion, then or now.
I got a vendor spot at Kid’s Con this past Saturday. Sold a few items, took a few pics & even picked up a couple items.
Come to Kid’s Con this Saturday, October 15th & check out this Eastman & Lavigne signed TMNT #1 5th printing!! And many, many more TMNT comics!
I found a space that should work for Shellabration v4! Its larger, close to the turnpike & literally right in town… More details to follow as soon as we hear back from the venue!
Pretty certain I over paid for all of these until/unless you factor in shipping. A couple of them aren’t in as nice condition as they look bagged but whatever. I own
For a bit now, I’ve had a Turtle shell (kids costume) on the front of my motorcycle… It was already a bit faded and then got even worse over the last few months from being on the bike… so I painted it. Here is the before & after look all at once.
